Cranes for Japan

There was a fundraiser for Japan at the Halifax Farmer’s Market this weekend.  For every donation, the group of students would make an origami crane which would also be sent to Japan (the tradition of making 1000 paper cranes is called Senbazuru). You could also write a message on your square of paper. It felt like such a tiny gesture, but I liked the idea of my crane being amassed together with all the others to create something much bigger. I haven’t heard any updates on the total, but I really, really hope they got there.
