I had an amazing birthday, full of many of my favourite things and people. It was a decadent night of wine, sushi, and cake. The carrot cake was made by my favourite, SchoolHouse Gluten-Free Gourmet, and the restaurant let us bring it in. They kept it in the fridge until we were ready, but when the (pregnant) waitress brought it out, she misjudged the distance between her belly and the cake, and there was a little smooshing happening. She was so surprised to see the mark when she put it down and so apologetic, but we managed to convince her that not only was it not a problem, but that it was great – we couldn’t stop giggling.
It was a magical night with a big full moon, lots of laughter, and a hat-trick of resolutions.
